Millennials may be key to winning the school choice issue. As it turns out, millennials are actually quite likely to feel that parents should be able to choose the education option that is best for their child’s individual needs. According to a survey conducted by EdChoice, 63 percent of the millennial generation supports charter schools.
Perhaps more interestingly is this:
“Overall, 63 percent of millennial respondents were in favor of charter schools, and just 19 percent were opposed. The national average was 59 percent and 23 percent. This means that millennials were actually slightly more pro-charter than the average, though the difference is within the survey’s margin of error.”
This gives school choice supporters a reason to be hopeful for the future of education in America. With a choice in education, the potential for achievement is endless.
